Managing the Acutely Ill Patient - Advanced Professional Development [Level HE6] part-time This module is for any health care professional who may have to provide management of a person who becomes acutely ill. It covers patients in all health care settings but will focus particularly on a hospital context. Professional Studies (Health and Social Care) - BSc (Hons) This course is for health and social care practitioners who wish to top-up their HND, foundation degree, nursing diploma or similar level HE5 qualification to degree level. It offers you an opportunity to access degree-level studies through stand-alone modules and/or through credit accumulation. The course has a very flexible framework that can be adapted to fit your personal circumstances, employment and professional development, enabling you to develop a programme that is directly relevant to your professional role. This study route also provides the greatest flexibility for accreditation of prior learning from ‘smaller’ units of learning. The course offers a broad range of specialist modules covering the practical skills and knowledge for professional practice. It also covers the theoretical framework through the study of research methods, mentorship, and legal, ethical and professional issues. For all our professional development courses we are happy to accept self-funded or employer-funded applicants. Most modules are included in the continuing professional development service level agreement with the NHS Health Education North West. Applicants should contact their manager to explore funding arrangements.
