The Catholic University of Maule is an institution of higher education founded by the Most Excellent Bishop of the Diocese of Talca, Monsignor Carlos González Cruchaga, by Decree dated July 10, 1991. Derived from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as Regional Headquarters of the Maule founded in March 1970, therefore, it is a legal successor in academic and patrimonial matters. In this way, the Catholic University of Maule is an institution with full autonomy, understood as the right to decide for itself, in accordance with its Statutes and Regulations, everything concerning the fulfillment of its objectives. About DUOC UC Duoc UC is a non-profit, private institution of higher education. We offer two and a half year Technical Programs and four-year Professional Programs. In 2010, we received a 7 out of 7 years of institutional accreditation from the Accreditation National Agency, which certifies the quality of our educational project and its relevance among the higher education institutions in our country. Our History Duoc UC was founded in 1968 by a group of students at the prestigious Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, with the help of professors and labor unions, to offer training courses for blue –collar workers that lacked access to university education. In 1973 “Fundación Duoc” was created to achieve managerial and financial independence from the University, this privatization process was completed in 1974. In 1981 Duoc’s Professional Institute and Duoc Technical Training Center were created under the umbrella of this foundation. In 1982 the Ministry of Education recognized the professional institute and in 1983 the technical training center. Duoc UC remains a part of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile’s network.
