Introduction
An introduction to personal, family, community, and societal health. Theoretical and conceptual frameworks of health promotion, primary health, prevention, and determinants of health are examined. Reflection on personal experiences provide opportunities to identify personal resources and challenges that impact health, and recognize diversity of beliefs, values, and perceptions of health. An exploration of self, and self in relation to others, through a process of personal discovery. Through interaction and reflection, learners begin to understand how personal beliefs, values, experiences, and perceptions have shaped self over time, relate to, and impact on caring experiences with self and others (individuals, family, groups).
