Introduction
The Croatian Ministry of Science and Education has approved the new undergraduate study program Psychology and the first generation of students started their study in October 2021.
The program lasts three years, the classes are entirely in English, and graduates will obtain 180 ECTS and the title University Baccalaureus of Psychology (univ. bacc. psych.). Students will learn about the different psychological disciplines and theoretical orientations, acquire research methodology skills, and obtain a basic knowledge of scientific disciplines that intersect with psychology (e.g., philosophy, anthropology, sociology).
The study program is in full accordance with the requirements of EuroPsy, a European Standard of education and professional training in psychology set by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations. Therefore, the students who complete the program may continue their studies on any psychology master program in the EU.
Classes will be held at the University of Split, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and other parts of the University such as the School of Medicine. The program will be taught by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences staff and collaborating teachers from other Croatian and international universities. The mentoring system will provide each student with a mentor-teacher who will advise the student regarding the study or specific academic interests. According to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences regulations, students may also spend one or more semesters at one of the European Universities.
