Introduction
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) program in the Faculty of Health Sciences offers majors in Addictions Counselling, Health Sciences, and Nursing.
Based on a cohort model, this program is designed to satisfy the needs of students interested in pursuing a master’s degree in a health-related area. Students come from various healthcare backgrounds including, but not limited to, public health, therapeutic recreation, addictions counselling, nursing, and psychology. This program offers students the opportunity to earn a master’s degree by completing required courses and by conducting research culminating in a thesis.
Students are required to secure a potential supervisor before applying to this program. For further information please visit our Search Supervisors page.
The thesis forms the central requirement of the program which involves close collaboration between the supervisor and student; as a result, students need to be on campus to conduct research with their supervisor. Our M.Sc. programs are delivered on the Lethbridge campus only.

The program works to create a partnership between students, the university, and the employer, offering students an extended learning environment and the opportunity to develop a professional network.
Cooperative education is available to students for the Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc) programs within the Faculty of Arts and Science and the Dhillon School of Business.
