Introduction
Our Master of Nursing (MN) offers an accessible graduate degree for practitioners who want to:

Students complete courses and face-to-face meetings with instructors, advisors, and fellow students online, and may complete the program full- or part-time.
Students in this program will choose from the following pathways:

- Project option (coursework and project)
- Thesis option (coursework and thesis)
Curriculum
The Master of Nursing program consists of the equivalent of 11 courses (33.0 credit hours). Course sequencing will differ by pathway (course-based, thesis, or project route).

- Nursing 5110 - Health Research: Critique, Synthesis, and Application (3.0 credit hours)

- Nursing 5140 - Populations and Places for Nursing Practice (3.0 credit hours)
Culminating Activity (21.0 credit hours)
Course-based Option for Educational Nursing Specialization
Students in the course-based route will take 12.0 credit hours of common core courses (above) plus an additional 21.0 credit hours of courses, 3.0 credit hours each.

*Health Services Management (HMGT) courses are delivered using a blended format:
- Face-to-face sessions are offered on the Calgary Campus for 20 hours.
- Asynchronous online sessions for a total of 16 hours.
- Students registering for any HMGT courses must attend face-to-face sessions in Calgary.

About the Final project
- Students choose a project topic of interest to them, in consultation with the Project Development Seminar instructor.
- Students will have opportunities to discuss and explore possible topic ideas with their instructor and colleagues in the Project Proposal Seminar.
- The project topic must be selected by the end of the second week of the Project Development Seminar.
Thesis option

About the Thesis proposal
- The student must complete a thesis proposal and submit it to the relevant program committee.
- Full-time MN students must submit their thesis proposal by the end of the fourth term of their program.
- Part time MN students must submit their thesis proposal by the end of the seventh term of their program.

We have an admission award called the Univ. of Lethbridge Graduate Research Award (ULGRA) for which every student admitted to a full-time graduate program is considered. Please note that admission into a program is not a guarantee you’ll receive award funding. This admission award has no application and you will be assessed at the time you apply for admission. Additionally, you will be considered for Graduate Assistantships work at the time of admission and your supervisor may be able to offer you a Research Assistantship or stipend (ask your supervisor about that possibility).
