Introduction
The inter-university master's degree seeks to enhance the quality of research through the cooperation of the different Universities with research programs in Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences, providing a more complete research training to students, enhancing their mobility and collaboration with companies.
This master's degree is an inter-university degree with the universities of Alcalá, Complutense de Madrid, Murcia, Navarra, Valladolid and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC).
Curriculum
The subjects are grouped into training profiles or itineraries that give rise to the following specializations:
- Techniques in Research and Diagnosis in Vision Sciences
- Visual Apparatus Diseases
- Visual or Physiological Optics
- Neurophysiology of Vision
Each itinerary is made up of various specific subjects and one compulsory, called Fundamentals of Vision, plus a fifth mixed itinerary, which does not lead to any specialization.
The Fundamentals of Vision subject establishes the minimum level of general knowledge that all students who are training in the program must have about the anatomical, histopathological, genetic, optical, physiological and ophthalmological (clinical) aspects of the vision process.
Program Outcome
- Enhance the quality of research in Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences, combining the efforts of different Departments and University Institutes with research programs related to that topic.
- Promote scientific cooperation between the different research groups participating in the program, both national and foreign, and exchange for a more complete approach to the students' training in research and teaching techniques.
- Promote the mobility of students between participating research centers and other international centers in order to encourage their future incorporation into research teams other than the one from which they come.
- Promote collaboration with companies to achieve research training that is not only specific, but also useful to society.

Career Opportunities
From a labor point of view, this Title reinforces the training of researchers, giving rise to specialized researchers in an eminently applied and expanding area, both nationally and internationally.
Current Spanish and European scientific policy will allow many of these researchers to have job opportunities in Universities and Research Organizations. But also the promotion of job opportunities for researchers through project assistance programs with companies will allow there to be a job offer in the business field.
