Introduction

Our program is deeply connected to Louisville’s thriving medical community, and the skills you learn in class and clinical will translate to opportunities in the field of nursing. If you are a first-time undergraduate student, the traditional 4-year track BSN program is for you.
Program Details
- 4 Semesters (Two academic years. Optional Summer Semester Internship)
- 59 credit hours + 824 clinical hours, including a 120-hour clinical practicum
- 40 students per cohort (cohorts start every August and January)

Curriculum
To progress through the School of Nursing, you must meet the following requirements:
- A grade of “C” or better must be earned in each nursing course.
- Students enrolled in the nursing program may repeat a nursing class only once.
- A course taken in the nursing program may not be repeated outside of Spalding University.
- Any student failing one nursing course will be referred to the Academic Success Coach for a plan of action.
- Nursing courses may only be taken in the approved sequence as established by the program of study unless permitted by the Director of the BSN Program.
- Completion of the nursing program requires that all elements (courses, course work, assignments, clinical experiences) of the courses on the POS be met within the required time frames established by the SON and the University.
As a nationally accredited institution, our credits are transferable to other accredited institutions. However, courses will transfer at the discretion of the institution to which the student is seeking to transfer.
