Introduction
Our Master of Public Health (MPH) prepares you for key roles in the applied promotion and implementation of public health projects. It will develop you as a public health leader in the global context of practice.
Our course is rooted in public health evidence and focuses on developing real-life and employment-ready skills. You will learn to respond to a changing and challenging environment as well as gain the required:
- knowledge
- skills
- critical awareness
- and integrated understanding of leadership.
You will develop practice and theorise professional and organisational development while learning in a supportive environment.
You will take eight, interactive distance-learning modules, so you can study at a pace suited to you. While gaining key leadership skills as you continue in your practice community or public health employment context. Each module has an introductory study skills refresher unit.
We also offer a similar course taught on-campus.

Learning and assessment
You will study the following modules:

Assessment is through written assignments, an online test and a final health promotion project (for the MPH only).

This module offers students the ability to understand and evaluate statistical data with the use of the software. Students will also gain an understanding of how appropriate statistical techniques are chosen for a particular context. They will develop information technology and academic writing skills to present and interpret statistical information in a report. This module does not assume previous statistical knowledge and the analyses included in the teaching and assessment are those which are commonly seen in health-related research and policy papers.

You will be taught through eight distance-learning modules. And each module is introduced with a dedicated study skills refresher unit.
