The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the Medical University of Warsaw maintains its position as the best place to study dentistry in Poland. The English Dentistry Division opened in the academic year 2012/2013. The first graduates of the dentistry program in English obtained their DMD in 2018. As of 2019/2020, students will be taught and trained with world-class equipment in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry’s new modern University Dentistry Center located on Medical University of Warsaw’s main campus.

The Medical University of Warsaw offers a 5-year Dental Program to High School graduates. The program adapted to the EU standards provides more than 5000 hours of instruction and 300 ECTS.

The total duration of the 5-year dental program is 10 semesters (150 weeks) during which students have lectures, seminars, and practical classes. Upon completion of each year of studies, students are required to take a 4 -week summer practical training which is mandatory and included in the curriculum. Practical training can be completed in recognized institutions in the native countries of the students.

The Graduate obtains a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree and receives a diploma recognized in many countries. The curriculum conforms to the European Union standards of dental programs. The graduate can continue their career at the Medical University of Warsaw both as a scientist or as a teacher.

Have a high school-leaving examination certificate or secondary education diploma or equivalent which entitles you to be considered for admission to a university program in the country it was obtained.

Take our Competency Test or the BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT, or UKCAT.

Have passing grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics on your high school-leaving examination certificate or secondary education diploma or equivalent.

If you do not have the required grades, you can take an exam in such a subject. We organize exams in biology, chemistry, and physics.

Remember – regardless of the subject exam, you will also have to take the competency test or BMAT/MCAT/GAMSAT/UKCAT.

You can write the Competency Test or apply using the BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT, or UKCAT certificate only once during the admission process.

You may start applying for university and write the Competency Test before you receive your secondary school-leaving certificate. You have to submit the original certificate before the end of recruitment. The deadline will be set by the Admission Board.

Please remember to correctly fill in the date on the application form when you receive your secondary school-leaving certificate.

The above requirements pertain to all Candidates applying to the Medical University of Warsaw 6-year Medical Program, including Polish or international candidates and candidates holding Bachelor's or Master's diplomas.

Required documents confirming the fluency in English

The candidates who have been qualified to the admission to the studies (6-year Medical Program in English) must present a certificate of an examination verifying their fluency in English.

The above requirement does NOT apply to the candidates whose mother tongue is English (e.g. Australia, United Kingdom, USA, Canada) or the candidates who have taken the baccalaureate examination in English.

For these candidates, documents confirming command of English are:

Citizenship of a country in which English is the official language;

IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate);

The higher education diploma, if the language of instruction was English.

The Admission Board reserves the right to request additional information and/or require language proficiency exam scores.

Below is a list of Language certificates recognized by the Medical University of Warsaw:

TOEFL iBT – at least 87 points and at least 3.5 points of the TWE

TOEFL PBT – at least 510 points (at least 180 points in the computer system)

In the case of the candidates who have obtained the graduation certificate of secondary education upon taking the baccalaureate examination (egzamin maturalny), the result of the written examination in English (advanced level) of at least 83% will be taken into account. If a candidate presenting a graduation certificate of secondary education obtained after taking the baccalaureate examination does not have at least the above grade in English he/she must present the language certificate confirming his/her fluency in English according to the above rules.

In respect of the candidates from Scandinavian countries, the grades included in the graduation certificate of secondary education will be taken into account. The minimum grades in the case of the candidates representing Scandinavian countries:

If a candidate from a Scandinavian country does not have at least the grade specified above he/she must present a language certificate confirming his/her fluency in English according to the above rules.
