Introduction
The Hampton University School of Nursing Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing provides students with a solid foundation for beginning a career as a registered nurse. This four-year traditional program is designed for students who wish to pursue a BS in Nursing as their first bachelor’s degree. Students enrolled in this academic program receive in-depth and comprehensive nursing education and training which provides the essential tools to transition into nursing practice upon graduation.
The Professional Nursing Program consists of five semesters of theoretical and clinical courses from the foundations of nursing, adult acute care, obstetrics, and pediatrics to community/mental health nursing. You will learn the practice of nursing in the classroom and clinical settings. Graduates of the Hampton University School of Nursing program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Nurses can work in a wide array of practices in health care and beyond.
