Introduction
Health administration degrees are modeled after the general business administration curriculum, giving students experiences in finance, leadership/management, quality, and strategic planning. Coursework, internship, and capstone experiences prepare students to work in healthcare institutions such as hospitals, medical offices, insurance groups, and pharmaceutical companies. People with health administration degrees have the skills to manage staff, programs, and service lines within the complex and ever-changing healthcare arena.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign MSHA program combines the benefits of a small program with a leading research university's resources and opportunities. This newer program allows students to be at the cutting edge of newly developed classes and curriculum. The curriculum was developed based on industry trends to ensure students are prepared for a health administration career. Our small program size allows students to easily connect with the supportive faculty and be surrounded by a tight-knit cohort of peers. We welcome students from various disciplines and training to join our diverse cohort of MSHA students.
