The University Master's Degree in Translational Medicine Research is an innovative proposal that includes a training project adapted to the student, and aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills that favor their research development in translational medicine. It aims to provide students with excellent training in the field of basic-clinical research in biomedicine. To do this, it has a balanced offer of content, both theoretical and practical, that provide the methodological, conceptual and ethical bases necessary to face the start of a research career in biomedicine.

Student Profile: The University Master's Degree is aimed at graduates or graduates in the Knowledge Branch of Health Sciences and Sciences with an interest in guiding their training in translational biomedical research: Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology , Nursing, Psychology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Chemistry, Health Biology, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Speech Therapy and Physiotherapy.

Access requirements:

  • Official Spanish university degree or another issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area that empowers the issuing country for access to these teachings.
  • University degree in accordance with educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area without the need for the homologation of their degrees, after verification by the UCM that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official university degrees.
  • For those non-Spanish speaking foreign students, documentary proof of sufficient knowledge of the Spanish language is required.

Why study this master?

Although the orientation of the University Master 's Degree is eminently investigative, it will also have an undoubted interest from the academic and professional point of view. At the end of the Master's degree, students will be in an unbeatable disposition to continue their academic training, joining Doctoral programs, such as "Biomedical Research" or "Research in Medical-Surgical Sciences" offered by UCM, among others. Likewise, the University Master's Degree will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out a professional activity in the field of biomedical research. The specialized training acquired will allow students to join as researchers in basic and translational research groups belonging to both public and private institutions, including universities, health research institutes, hospitals and R&D departments of companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector. .

Admission requirements for masters

Non-enabling university masters

  • Be in possession of any of the following titles:
    • Spanish official university degree .
    • Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
    • Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
  • Or be carrying out during the course in which you pre-enroll studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before September 30, 2020 .
  • In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
