Program Description

NOTICE: We are sorry to inform you that due to Covid19 emergency the Summer School "Muscle School: exercise muscle in health and disease" has to be cancelled for this year.

The Summer School will be held in 2021.

New dates and new application deadline will be published in October 2020.

About

The course will point out most cutting-edge researches and clinical applied issues about the role of muscle exercise on both healthy subjects and patients affected by different types of primary or secondary neuromuscular disorders, focusing on physiopathology, methodological issues, bioengineering devices and therapeutic advances, particularly on the management of core manifestations of exercise intolerance such as fatigue and its correlates.

Aim

Physiology and anatomy of skeletal muscle. Skeletal muscle pathophysiology and muscle diseases. Muscle fatigue: definition and how to assess. Biochemical aspects of exercise in healthy and disease. Muscular disease: the role of bioeneneering. Role of exercise in muscle healthy and diseases. Diet and exercise, supplements, doping. The patients voice. Sport and disability: legal perpesctives.
