Application criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants will need to hold current registration with the General Dental Council (UK) or equivalent in another country and have been qualified for at least two years.

Lecturers and Course Tutors

Philip Ower - Course Lecturer

Phil was the RAF Adviser in Periodontology, running the RAF School of Dental Hygiene. After leaving the RAF he worked in several specialist practices and, for 10 years, worked alongside the renowned Bernie Kieser at the Periodontal Practice in London. He now practices exclusively at the Briars Dental Centre in Newbury.

He has been an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MGDS) and has served two terms on the Council of the British Society of Periodontology (BSP). He is about to start a third term on the BSP Council prior to his Presidency of the BSP in 2015-16.

Phil has had papers published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, Dental Update, Dental Practice and Independent Dentistry and has served on the editorial boards of Primary Dental Care and Dental Health. He is a Module editor on the eDen project for e-Learning for Healthcare and is currently editing a new undergraduate textbook for the publisher Elsevier.
