SCCC offers a variety of pre-professional programs including pre-dentistry, pre-engineering, pre-med, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy, and pre-veterinary options. Students are able to choose between associate degree and transfer options, focusing on a broad knowledge base in the sciences, mathematics, and communications areas. The rigor and challenge of a pre-professional track are evident in the types of courses, course load, and time-management skills required of students in the program. Working closely with faculty and staff in the Math, Science and HPERD Division, along with the SCCC Transfer Coordinator, graduates of the SCCC pre-professional programs are prepared to pursue a variety of options for careers and continuing education.
Engineers apply the theories and principals of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. At Seward County, Community College students can take the fundamental science and math courses as well as other general education requirements before transferring to a university to complete an engineering degree.
A Medical Practitioner is someone who looks out for the well-being and health of people. Medical Practitioners treat sick and injured people, as well as, advise patients on health and wellness. In addition to working at a hospital, clinic, or private-practice, Medical Practitioners may also work for universities, research labs, or government. At Seward County, Community College students can take the fundamental science and math courses as well as other general education requirements before transferring to a university to complete a bachelor’s degree and continuing into their chosen field of medicine.
