Global demand for pig and poultry products continues to grow, providing exciting opportunities for professionals working within these sectors. The UK has a negative trade balance in pig and poultry products despite an efficient industry. Improvements in productivity are required to remain competitive, to meet global demand, to ensure UK food security and to reduce environmental impact.
This programme is offered by one of the leading veterinary schools in the UK, supported by a BBSRC Advanced Training Partnership that was awarded to the RVC in collaboration with Edinburgh, Newcastle and Cambridge Universities. The programme has worldwide relevance and builds on the College’s expertise in veterinary medicine and business, animal health economics, public health, animal welfare, and teaching and learning.
Our unique course is available through part-time, blended distance learning. This delivery allows students to study for their degree alongside work and family responsibilities. The course will be of interest to those working within the agri-food sector and will promote the development of advanced level skills in pigs and poultry. Graduates are expected to contribute further to the intensive livestock industries in the veterinary, public health or production sectors.
