The different profiles of students of the PhD program in Health Sciences can be summarized as follows: Official Title of Master's Degree, preferably in Research in Health Sciences or Pharmaceutical Care and Pharmacotherapy or another of the same level and scope of any institution of higher education in the European higher education Area or countries outside they permit access to doctoral studies in the country of issue.

Students who come from other degrees and other official Master in the areas of Social and Legal Sciences and Arts and Humanities, or areas of Science and Engineering and Architecture have access to the PhD Program in Health Sciences as assessment and report the Academic Committee must take supplements training set.
In order to study the doctoral program, the student must demonstrate the following requirements prior scientific and methodological training:
Possessing a proven, advanced and specialized in the field of Health Sciences training: (1) ability to analyze the health needs of the population, (2) ability to identify the determinants of health and their impact, (3) ability to describe the peculiarities of different population groups with specific needs in the field of health, (4) ability to identify research problems and operationalize its formulation according to the design of selected research, (5) the ability to develop hypotheses work based on bibliographic and experimental design and history.
Have previous research experience in the field of health sciences or related fields acquired during or after your training must include: (1) knowledge of the basic techniques to carry out the review and bibliographic management, (2) ability to cope with skill and responsibility in the process of experimentation, and assess their risk and implications (social, environmental or ethical)
Capacity for data processing and interpretation.
Ability to write reports, conduct presentations and generally communicate (oral and written) with specialized audiences (scientific, academic and professional) and unskilled in an effective, clear and unambiguous both Spanish and English (minimum level B1).

Train students in the knowledge of the theoretical basis on which the scientific method and experimental research is based, as well as the use of the methodology and sources of information needed for scientific research in the field of health.
Enable students to conceive, plan and implement a process of research in the area of Health.
Encourage students their critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas.
Train students for the dissemination of research results in the field of Health.
Develop in students the skills, abilities and attitudes of competent researcher, both from the scientific point of view and from the point of view of ethics.

Functional assessment for improved performance and health
According to Royal Decree 99/2011 by which the official teachings of doctorate regulated generally, for access to an official doctoral program you will need to be in possession of the Spanish official degree, or equivalent, and Master's degree.
They may also access those who are in any of the following circumstances: a) hold a Spanish official university degree or another member country of the European Higher Education Area, which enable to access Master in accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of Royal Decree 1393/2007 of October 29 and have completed a minimum of 300 ECTS credits in all official university studies, of which at least 60 must be Master level.
b) hold a Spanish official title of graduate or graduate whose duration, in accordance with rules of Community law, is at least 300 ECTS credits. These graduates must take mandatory training complements Article 7.2 of this standard, unless the curriculum of the corresponding undergraduate degree includes credits of research training, equivalent educational value to credit research from concerns Master studies.
c) university graduates who, after obtaining a place in training in the corresponding test access to places of specialized medical training, have passed with positive evaluation at least two years of training in a program to obtain the official title of one of the specialties in Health Sciences.
d) be in possession of a diploma obtained in accordance with foreign education systems without their approval, after verification by the university that it accredits a level equivalent to that of the Spanish official title of Master and entitling the country training shipper qualification for admission to doctoral studies. This admission does not imply in any case the approval of the previous title in possession of the applicant or its recognition for purposes other than access to doctoral programs.
e) Being in possession of another Spanish PhD degree obtained under previous university ordinations.
They may be admitted to doctoral studies, the graduates, architects and engineers who were in possession of Advanced Studies diploma obtained in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 778/98 of April 30 had reached or research capacity as regulated in RD 185/1985 of 23 January.
The universities, through the Academic Committees Article 8.3 of Royal Decree 99/2011 of 28 January referred to may establish additional requirements and criteria for selection and admission of students to a specific doctoral program.
Admission to Doctoral Programs may include requiring specific training supplements.
