The graduate of the doctoral study program in Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry has deep theoretical knowledge in the field, namely in biochemistry and metabolism of various organisms, physical chemistry, and organic chemistry and in analytical methods in biomedical research. He or she has practical experience in the laboratory routine and scientific work, as well as sufficient clinical and laboratory practice. The graduate understands the principles of scientific work, is able to design and carry out a research project, and knows how to interpret and publish his or her findings. He or she is capable of leading a small scientific workgroup. The Ph.D. graduate of the study program is a highly qualified expert who is prepared for a career in academic or research institutions with a biomedical orientation.
Description of verification and evaluation criteria
Knowledge of biochemistry, physical and organic chemistry and basics of molecular biology; debate on the topic of the dissertation; practical test of basic laboratory techniques
The proper completion of the Master´s degree program, English language proficiency: CEFRL B2 or higher
Assets: Education: medical, pharmaceutical, nat. science, chemical 35 points, Practice in biochemical laboratory 10 points, Annotation of intended work 5 points
