Human Sexuality PhD
The Human Sexuality PhD program is the only accredited program of its kind on the West Coast. It offers coursework and mentorship to support student teaching, research, publication, policy projects, and creative endeavors.
As an interdisciplinary program in critical sexuality studies, our program draws on queer theory, intersectionality, feminism, history, philosophy, biology, social sciences, and clinical and policy studies. The doctoral program is designed to prepare students to be the next generation of thought leaders with critical knowledge of sexuality, research and analysis skills, a diverse theoretical background, and professional skills.
About the Program
This online hybrid program consists of 2 years of coursework, comprehensive exams, and a dissertation (4-6 year estimated completion). Classes meet over three-day weekends in required academic residencies three times each semester, with the balance of coursework completed online.
