Introduction
This program was created with the purpose of responding to a series of training, scientific and research needs that are found in the Galician University System (SUG). The Doctoral Program promotes studies at the postgraduate level and promotes research training for students in the field of Health Sciences and specifically in the field of Dentistry.
The program gathers the experience acquired by a quantitatively limited but highly specialized and cohesive teaching and research team with a wide scientific production. The program is integrated into the USC's R & D & I strategy (increase the international character of the Doctorate, unite potentialities, promote attractive multidisciplinary programs).

Ideal Students
In general, the master's studies that will allow entry to this doctoral program without training complements will be the following: Official Master's Degree in Dental Sciences offered by the USC or any other Spanish university with equivalence in ECTS credits (60). Likewise, those students with the DEA degree obtained by the extinct doctoral programs of the USC: Scientific advances in Odontostomatology and initiation to research in Odontostomatology will have access to the program as long as they take the training complement of Research in special patients.
In the case of other types of profiles different from the previous ones, the academic committee will evaluate each case individually. The possibility of requiring additional training (maximum up to 15 ECTS) in: research methodology, biostatistics, English will be considered in the case of not having this training. In the case of other profiles that do not carry out Master's studies, an equivalence of training in research credits will be required, at least equal to those of the Master's degree that gives direct access, which will be 8 ECTS.

Program Outcome
The proposal for the Doctorate Program in Dental Sciences in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations for Doctorate Studies, this program is attached to the International Doctoral School of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and was born with the purpose of giving response to a series of training, scientific and research needs that can be verified in the Galician University System (SUG).
The Program promotes studies at the postgraduate level and promotes research training for students in the field of Health Sciences and specifically in the field of Dentistry.
