The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the national voice for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs, recognizes the B.S.N. degree as the minimum educational requirement for professional nursing practice.
Students generally apply to this program prior to their junior year in college. As a full-time ‘lock-step’ program, it takes five consecutive semesters to complete, including summers. Admission is limited and occurs twice a year (each fall on UCF’s Orlando campus, and each spring on UCF’s regional campuses in Cocoa and Daytona Beach). Graduates are eligible to sit for the R.N. licensure exam.
SECOND DEGREE B.S.N.
This program is for students who have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree and now aim to become nurses. As a full-time ‘lock-step’ program, it takes four consecutive semesters to complete, including summers. Admission is limited and occurs each summer on UCF’s Orlando campus. Graduates are eligible to sit for the R.N. licensure exam.
CONCURRENT A.S.N. TO B.S.N.
This unique, alternative dual-enrollment program allows qualified students to take Associate of Science in Nursing-level nursing courses at approved state colleges while taking B.S.N.-level courses at UCF at the same time. Students are eligible to sit for the R.N. licensure exam after completing their A.S.N. degree from the state college. Students will complete their A.S.N. degree with more than half of their B.S.N. credits already earned, allowing them to complete their B.S.N. degree from UCF sooner. This program is offered in partnership with Seminole State College (Altamonte Springs campus) and Valencia College(West campus).
R.N. TO B.S.N. | A.S. TO B.S.N.
This web-based bachelor’s degree completion program is designed for registered nurses who have an associate of science degree in nursing or have completed a diploma nursing program. Courses are offered online with some face-to-face instruction on select regional campuses if desired.
