Enrolling in a master’s degree program gives participants access to the information, skills training and other educational components they need to become experts in an academic endeavor. Students typically pursue master’s degrees after successfully completing an undergraduate course of study.

What is a Master in Surgery? Surgical education has changed considerably in recent years. While original techniques continue to have a place in the modern operating room, surgeons increasingly rely on technology and advanced methods to treat patients. When students enroll in a master’s degree program, they may take courses in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, surgery and other associated topics. Typically, they must learn in both lecture halls and project-based laboratories. Prior to graduating, students ordinarily complete clinical training.

Graduating with a Master in Surgery gives individuals the surgical skills, project planning abilities and time management competencies they need to effectively treat patients. They also learn how to meet deadlines, control stress and lead teams, giving them a boost in their professional and personal lives.

Because costs vary based on many factors, such as a program’s length or the school’s location, it can be difficult to estimate tuition and fees without specific information. It is advisable to discuss total expenses with program officials prior to registering for master’s classes.

Those who successfully earn a Master in Surgery typically have the knowledge and skills to be good surgeons. Prior to practicing, most graduates must acquire a license to practice surgical medicine, however. Those who choose not to become surgeons work as hospital administrators, researchers or professors. Some decide to work on developing surgical technology as inventors, testers or project planners. Meanwhile, some students enroll in doctoral programs, seeking to gain more education and training in surgical medicine.

Students work on earning a Master in Surgery in local institutions, through correspondence universities and online. For more information, search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.

The mission of the single-cycle Master's Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery is identified with the training of a doctor at an initial professional level with a biomedical-psychosocial culture, who possesses a multidisciplinary and integrated vision of the most common problems of health and disease. The education of the graduate must be oriented towards the community, the territory, and fundamentally towards the prevention of disease as well as towards health promotion, and with a humanistic culture in its medical aspects. This specific mission responds in a more adequate way to the new needs of care and health, as it is centered not only on the disease but above all on the sick person, considered as a whole of soma and psyche and inserted in the social context. The medical training thus oriented is also seen as the first segment of an education that must last over time, and in this perspective the knowledge that the student must acquire in this phase has been calibrated, giving due importance to self-learning, to experiences. not only in hospitals but also in local health facilities, epidemiology, for the development of clinical reasoning and the culture of prevention. The Medical School of the University of Parma has now decided to develop this European and international vocation opening a novel Medicine & Surgery course, entirely held in English, in the nearby city of Piacenza, which offers a hospital system that is not shared with other medical courses but will be uniquely dedicated to the new medical degree. -

The postgraduate course in Hand Surgery is aimed at training professionals to diagnose, treat and prevent congenital and acquired diseases, and traumatic injuries that affect the hand from an interdisciplinary perspective. With the program, we seek that professionals who develop educational programs for the general population and for the medical and paramedical community help prevent, treat, rehabilitate and reintegrate patients with upper limb pathology into the productive community. In addition, we intend that residents provide advice to occupational health services and entities in charge of the professional risks of work accidents and occupational diseases in the multidisciplinary programs that are implemented for the protection of workers in pathologies related to the upper limb in the job. Finally, we seek that the graduates collaborate with sports trainers, sports doctors, and other specialties that attend sports and leisure-time recreational activities that have to do with acquired or traumatic pathology in the hand and upper limb; and that they provide advice and attention in prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation in music programs where pathology due to overuse can often be seen. -
