The advanced clinical leadership and management skills you will learn through this carefully designed program will provide you with the expertise required for senior generalist positions. The role of a generalist requires you to be an effective communicator and clinical care coordinator across independent clinical disciplines, filling the gaps that exist in current hospital processes. You may also transfer these skills to a range of other roles including: department or unit director; director of prevocational training; quality improvement and system redesign; clinical governance; director of research; and education. Specialisations The University of Newcastle has developed the program, in collaboration with the NSW Ministry of Health and the NSW Health Education and Training Insitute to provide continuing education for doctors working in hospitals and to open new career pathways as a senior generalist.
