The programme is organised as a two-year problem-based learning (PBL) study programme and is coordinated by the Cardiovascular Research Centre at Örebro University in close cooperation with other research groups in Europe.
The programme is concerned with the understanding of cellular and molecular mechanisms related to the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases. In focus are new pharmacological and interventional therapies for future treatments of cardiovascular diseases. The goals are that the students shall acquire in-depth theoretical knowledge and excellent methodological skills including in vivo and in vitro models used to study cardiovascular disease. Part of the programme is linked with two other Master's programmes, each supported by the three strong research environments in medicine at Örebro University.
