The Master Degree in Medical-pharmaceutical biotechnology provides an advanced scientific preparation on biotechnology topics oriented to medicine and pharmacology through the acquisition of integrated skills at the biochemical, biological-molecular and cellular levels. The course also provides competencies for business creation and management.
Learning by doing
One of the peculiarities of the course is the wide involvement of students in practical laboratory activities. The teaching schedules of both years provide practical exercises and promote attendance in laboratories, where students carry out their thesis internship. Internships can be made in highly qualified university research laboratories, in companies of the biotechnology sector and in Centers of Excellence such as Ospedale Policlinico San Martino-IRCCS, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) and Istituto Giannina Gaslini.
A Master graduate ('dottore magistrale') in Biotechnology has high responsibility tasks in different fields such as diagnostic, bioengineering, bio-sanitary and pharmacological. He/she works in health service and in both public and private companies involved in biotechnological research and production of goods and services. His/her duties also concern the development and testing of innovative pharmacological products and of the patent in the health field.
