Program Description

Course details

Healthcare organisations are among the most complex in today's society. As a new era for healthcare emerges, healthcare leaders will need to manage increased risk, uncertainty, ambiguity and effectively manage and implement change, which requires effective leadership style and qualities.

The MSc in Leadership is designed to develop tomorrow's leaders today by significantly developing leadership competencies, management skills and the ability to be innovative in an uncertain healthcare environment that has limited resources, increased demands and significant budget restrictions.

Dubai aims to become a global leader in the delivery of healthcare by delivering world-class services and fostering innovation and creativity in alignment with the UAE vision and Dubai plan 2021. Healthcare is one of the fastest growing sectors in the UAE, as recognised in the Dubai Health Strategy 2016-2021. A world-class healthcare system needs highly educated, innovative leaders; this new programme has been devised to meet the needs of healthcare professionals in this unique and complex environment.

This evidence-based programme combines academic rigour, practical experience and in-depth self-analysis in order to develop and enhance participants’ leadership capacity. It provides you with the opportunity to develop and enhance your knowledge of concepts, theories, research and best practice relating to leadership in healthcare while using associated language, tools and techniques.

The focus of this programme is firmly on leadership, thus it will address the main issues and problems that healthcare professionals experience in recognising, assessing, managing and overcoming the daily challenges they face. One of the key aims of the programme is that you emerge as a reflective practitioner, which places you at the forefront of change, innovation and best practice. Graduates of this programme will have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide world-class leadership in this critical sector.

  3. Assessment – formal assessment of these experiences
  4. Certification – the results of the assessment

These regulations are intended for use by the RCSI staff and faculty involved in admissions processes relating to applicants seeking an assessment of their prior learning for the purposes of admission, exemption or advanced entry/transfer between programmes and to provide clarity and direction for candidates during their application process.
