Our Program
The MPH program at the School of Postgraduate Studies offers you the opportunity to earn your Master of Public Health from the highly ranked Adventist University of Africa. Strong communities are the foundation of public health, and the Adventist University of Africa is committed to outreach services, training, and research efforts necessary to build our students. Through rigorous academics and on-campus, online, and extension centers the program aims to directly impact the well being of our students, the people of the African Continent and the world at large. Through educational programs, research initiatives and a service-driven mission, the school is committed to empowering underserved populations and advancing the health of communities around the globe. Information technology is integral in the delivery of every course including the delivery of content materials, student assignments, and communication within the students.

Regular (Part Time) Mode
This mode is offered only on the main campus. Classes are taken in the evening and weekends for two and a half years to complete the whole program. Course delivery is a mixture of interactive face-to-face, online, and on-site sessions.
Cohort Mode
The cohort mode is offered on three extension campuses in Helderberg College in South Africa, Valley View University in Ghana and the main campus in Kenya. Students will stay in the extension center for about three months each year for four years to complete the whole program.
Admission Requirements
- Applicants seeking admission into the MPH degree program must have a first degree from a recognized university in the relevant field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 point scale) or its equivalent. Those with lower GPA of 2.50 must have a work experience of not less than 4 years or must have evidence of research capability either through research published in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Applicants are also expected to submit recommendation letters from previous university and employer where applicable. Applicants are to request their former universities and employing organizations to send recommendations directly to the University Admissions Office.
Non-English speaking students are required to demonstrate their ability to study in English by:
- Passing a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) TOEFL, or
- A passing score on the British Council English language test (International English Language Test), or
- An English proficiency certification from a recognized university.
Applicants are to meet the following prerequisites as having been taken at undergraduate level:
- Human anatomy and physiology OR biology (3-semester credits)
- Human Nutrition (3-semester credits)
