The Graduate Program in Radiological and Imaging Sciences at Alfaisal University in collaboration with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) offers advanced professional training and research opportunities with international caliber faculty. It leads to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. The program is designed in three specialization tracks: ultrasound, radiologic education, and management. The program welcomes is open to training men and women, Saudi and non-Saudi, local and international students.
The M.Sc. degree program in radiological and imaging sciences requires 48 credits takes two years to compete. The 48 credit units include didactic coursework, clinical internships and training, and research projects. Successful completion requires 15 credits of core courses, 18 credits of specialty track courses, 9 credits of clinical rotations/lab practicum, and a 6 credit project, for a total of 48 hours credits.
The specialty curricula offer three distinct tracks (areas of specialization). One targets radiological and imaging science future educators. It trains lecturers and/or clinical instructors for undergraduate programs. The second track is targeted for radiology, nuclear medicine or radiation oncology services technical administrators. It prepares technical clinical managers of these modalities. The third track targets physicians who meet the minimum admission requirements to train as obstetrical and gynecological oncologists. Training specialties will focus on complementing didactic classroom instruction with clinical rotations and required internships at KFSH&RC and other affiliated hospitals. The graduate program offers a unique environment of higher education that integrates the research and clinical training capability at KFSHRC and Alfaisal University in a distinctive modern educational setting.
