The Biomedical Engineering master’s programme should enable graduates to be active at the interface between technology, medicine and biology, and to understand the language and content of both disciplines. The course promotes interdisciplinary technological expertise.
The four-semester master’s programme goes into the knowledge acquired in the Biomedical Engineering bachelor’s programme (six semesters) in more depth and offers opportunities to specialise in the fields of Health Care Engineering, Bioimaging & Bioinstrumentation, Bionformatics & Medical Informatics and Molecular Bioengineering (see course information folder). Graduates will be awarded the academic degree of “Diplom-Ingenieurin” or “Diplom-Ingenieur”, which is internationally equivalent to a “Master of Science” (“MSc”). Working as a Biomedical Engineer Graduates with a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering make fundamental contributions to ensure health-care provision of the future. This up-and-coming field is experiencing a time of global change, and job prospects are good. The work as a Biomedical Engineer extends far beyond classical hospital activities.
