MSc Programs in Pulmonology

What is Pulmonology?
Pulmonology is the study of diseases that affect the lungs and respiratory system. This includes conditions such as asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and pneumonia. Pulmonologists are doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating these conditions.

Why studyPulmonology?
Pulmonology deals with diseases that can be extremely debilitating and even deadly, by understanding how these diseases work, pulmonologists can develop better treatments and ultimately save lives. Pulmonary conditions are becoming increasingly common due to air pollution and smoking, so there is a growing need for pulmonologists.

Differenty types of Pulmonology degrees
There are several different types of degrees that one can earn in pulmonology. A medical doctor (MD) or a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) can complete a residency in pulmonary medicine, which typically lasts three years. After completing a residency, some pulmonologists may choose to subspecialize in a particular area of the field, such as critical care pulmonology or interventional pulmonology. Alternatively, students can earn a master's degree or doctorate in pulmonary science or another related field. These programs typically take two to four years to complete.

What will I study during my Pulmonology degree?
The curriculum for a Pulmonology degree will vary depending on the particular program you choose. You can expect to study topics such as lung anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology of pulmonary diseases, diagnostic testing and procedures, and treatment options.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom and Britain, is a sovereign state located off the northwestern coast of continental Europe. The two most famous (and oldest) universities are Oxford and Cambridge (often referred to as Oxbridge by many Britons). England also has several other world-class institutions, including several in London (notably Imperial College, the London School of Economics, University College London and King's College London, all are part of London University).

A Master of Science is an advanced program of study that can be earned in about two years. Many schools offer online or part-time MSc programs so that busy learners can further their education in a way that is convenient for them.
