Facilities The Department of Biomedical Engineering was formed in 2012 following the merger of the Bioengineering Unit and the National Centre for Prosthetics & Orthotics. Accreditation The MSc in Biomedical Engineering is accredited by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM). An IPEM-accredited MSc is normally required for those wishing to pursue careers as Clinical Scientists in the National Health Service.
