The MSc in Management in Health and Social Care welcomes UK, EU and international applicants who want to study health and social care management at an advanced level. Studying this specialised course will enable you to work more effectively at management level in your chosen field, support personal development and achieve organisational goals.
We have extensive and close links with practice areas across a diverse range of health and social care settings, so are very well placed to introduce you to the disciplines of senior management within a health and social care context. The course is designed to be flexible, enabling you to tailor your learning so that you can cover topics suited to your own professional development needs.
The impact of leadership and organisational management on delivering quality health and social care is fundamental particularly in the current context of global economic challenge. This course will help you to manage with confidence. You will be well equipped to deal with the challenges of an ever changing and complex environment of health and social care; you will learn theory to give you the big picture and critical thinking to apply it in practice.
Teaching learning and assessment
We use a range of innovative learning and teaching methods - for example seminars, learning sets as well as blended and online learning. Study for each single module taken will amount to 200 hours over the semester. Teaching is normally half a day every other week and sessions are normally delivered in the mornings and afternoons. Online learning activities may be included for alternate weeks. Our philosophy is to promote management and leadership competency through better understanding of the self, the organisation and the working environment.
We also aim to help make a difference to your organisation through the application of learning and evidence-based management to your work. Therefore assignments use real workplace issues to add value, and maximise benefits and time.
