Introduction
Make a difference! Add value to health and care. How can healthcare improve health outcomes and patient experiences while containing costs and guaranteeing access for all?
In the MSc Business Administration - Health, you develop the key competencies to understand and make a difference in this highly relevant sector. The course offerings combine healthcare management and health economics. You are provided with options to develop a more managerial or a more economic focus. Yet, you also look beyond the managerial or economic perspective: how to take the clients', clinicians', carers', and insurers' positions into regard?
High-quality healthcare is a critical foundation for individual well-being and a well-functioning society. Healthcare systems require maintenance, improvement and innovation on all levels. Healthcare managers need to cope with societal challenges and deploy technological opportunities without disrupting ongoing care delivery. One challenge is our ageing society with its growing demand and rising expectations, while fewer hands are available to provide care and the costs need to be contained. How can we reconcile these tensions? The managerial challenges require a strategic vision and coordinated efforts within healthcare companies as well as with other players in this dynamic field. This creates a demand for multidisciplinary educated professionals with both analytic and managerial skills, and a crisp understanding of the social-economic environment.
