Objectives


The principles and objectives of care in care at the end of life are to promote a high quality of life, according to their dignity and autonomy of the sick, all this without forgetting their physical, emotional, social and spiritual considering the patient and his family as a unit to try.This requires specific professional training to respond appropriately to these growing demands intervention and care.


General objectives are set for all the following specialties:


1. Develop knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to care for people at the end of life.

2. Train professionals to identify the process and management of terminal illness, dying, death and bereavement processes.

3. Promote awareness of the dying process placing cultural barriers, social and personal face of death and dying in our society.



Highlight specific objectives:


- Occupational Therapy:
Enable participants to develop a therapeutic intervention, clinical and psychosocial occupational therapy effective in relation to terminally ill patients and their families.

- Nursing:
Establish strategies for measures of comfort and care of symptoms, aimed at terminally ill patient and his family.To help alleviate the situation of patients with advanced and terminal palliative care implementation

- Physiotherapy:
Train physiotherapists who specialize in this type of patients to provide care and work environment support quality patient terminal based on the latest techniques and current research studies

- Social Work:
Train social workers to identify the needs of people in the terminal and their families to provide the most appropriate support and resources your life time.
