Welcome to the Duke Physician Assistant Program — birthplace of the physician assistant profession.
The Duke Physician Assistant Program’s mission is to educate caring, competent primary care physician assistants who practice evidence-based medicine, are leaders in the profession, dedicated to their communities, culturally sensitive, and devoted to positive transformation of the health care system.
Our Educational Philosophy assures that we provide a creative and supportive environment for individual learning and growth, within a curriculum that is by necessity highly structured and intense. We view education as a reciprocal, collaborative interaction among faculty and students who are responsible for their own learning. We strive to uphold the values of professionalism in our collegial interactions. We seek continuous quality improvement, and welcome the ideas of all who participate in the program.
