Saint Lucia is home to one standard university and a number of specialized institutions of higher learning. There are several medical schools located in Saint Lucia, the oldest of which is the Spartan Health Sciences University which attracts students from around the world.

Students can select individual courses in accordance with their interests. Students may also structure a series of classes in a way that might achieve specific objectives such as improving job skills, pursuing new careers, or obtaining certificates or degrees.
