A course is an educational opportunity that students can pursue after completing high school. Courses cover specific subject matter in a comprehensive manner that creates a solid foundation in the field for any subject.
What is a course in global health? A course in this subject area gives students an overview of the state of worldwide health today, including policies, laws and procedures. This course will typically cover the historical ebb and flow of health concerns and the key players who contributed to their eradication. Students will learn how epidemics are identified and managed and the strategies used to treat and abolish disease. It’s usually not necessary for students to have a particular background in order to study this course.
Students typically expand their knowledge of health issues so that they can become well-rounded global citizens. This course will help prepare you to work or travel globally especially in a field related to medicine.
The cost of a course in global health depends upon the location, school and level of the course. Usually, a course lasts between a few months to years, so it’s always a good idea to contact the admissions office for detailed cost information.
Completion of a course in global health is the first step for many students to a career in research, medicine or aide work on an international level. For others, this course provides an opportunity to expand their current career in a related field. Individuals who are unsure of whether the medical, research or humanitarian field is right for them can use this course to see how it fits. Advanced Topics in Causal Research
This online medical course will address two important topics in causal epidemiologic research, namely confounding and effect modification. These topics will be discussed in the context of both etiologic research and observational intervention research. Effect modification and confounding are difficult concepts to understand and often mixed up. In this course, the theory, as well as the practical side of these issues, will be discussed.
One particular problem in causal research is that the observed relation between a determinant and an outcome is attributed to that determinant, while in fact the observed relation should be attributed to another variable. This form of bias often referred to as confounding, is central in this course. Other sources of bias, notably missing data and measurement error are not addressed in detail....
