Despite popular belief, the study of pharmaceutical science does not prepare individuals to become pharmacists. Rather, it focuses on preparing pupils for positions in the research, marketing, wholesales, administration and regulation of pharmaceutical drugs, all of which are important to provide consumers with safer and more effective drug products.

Slovenia (Slovenija) is a member of the European Union, Schengen Agreement and NATO. Previously one of Yugoslavia's six constituent republics, present-day Slovenia became independent in 1991. Slovenia has four universities, located in Ljubljana, Maribor, Nova Gorica and Koper.

Certificate programs are educational units of study that help students to gain knowledge and experience under the tutelage of qualified individuals. Some students take these programs in order to have the skills needed to advance within their occupations.
