Ministering to people in need as a nurse is among the most extraordinary callings you can pursue. Nurses are in heavy demand, meaning there’s no limit to where you can live out your calling - from large metro hospitals to international mission fields or traveling nurses to medical school.
Choose Your Mission
Take advantage of our global connections to do life-changing international rotations. Get hands-on experience in Guatemala, Honduras, or Tanzania serving people in need. You can also pursue medical mission opportunities close to home in the OKC metro.

Graduation Policies and Requirements
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree requires the student must achieve:
A 3.0 cumulative GPA for all coursework completed at OC.
Completion of all pre-nursing courses required for the major with grades of “C” or higher. In biology, students need a B or higher.
Completion of all NURS designated courses required for the major with grades of “C” or higher. In biology, students need a B or higher.
Completion of all university graduation requirements.
Nursing students may, with prior approval of appropriate academic deans, pursue an additional major concurrently with nursing. Such students must declare nursing as the first major and complete all degree requirements for both nursing and the additional major. Students interested in this option are encouraged to meet with advisors from both majors as soon as possible to develop an academic plan.
Background Check & Drug Screen
A drug test and criminal background check of nursing students are required by the clinical sites for the clinical learning experience of OC nursing students. OC requires a drug test and criminal background check of each student prior to the time the student would have contact with the facility’s patients and/or employees. This screening must occur before a nursing student can be placed at a clinical site for his or her clinical experience; the student must have "negative" results on both a drug test and the criminal background check for admission into the nursing program [upper division]. "Negative" results are part of the program’s enrollment policies. If a need for a drug screen should arise during the student’s progression, the student will have to pay the expense for such a test and/or screening in addition to the regular tuition and/or lab fees.
