Program Description

Two Entry Options

1. Direct Entry

  • Three Years or
  • Eight trimesters of 15-week each one

2. Upper Division

  • Two Years or
  • Six trimesters of 15-week each one

Admissions Requirements

Direct Entry

  • Recognized High School Diploma or General Equivalency Examination (GED)
  • Official transcripts from high school and post-secondary, if applicable
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5

Prerequisite high school courses

  • 1 unit of Biology
  • 1 unit of Chemistry
  • 1 unit of Algebra
  • Demonstrate English proficiency in speaking and reading by

- TOEFL scores or evidence of successful completion of a year of college English

  • Evidence of attendance at a nursing pre-admission conference
  • Written essay indicating interest in nursing
  • Personal interview
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Immunization records and medical tests
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Comply with essential performance standards in nursing
  • A non-refundable application fee of $ 80.00
  • Criminal background screening
  • Take the HESI A2 Exam (Health Education System, Inc.)

Upper Level

- Evidence of completion of the following prerequisite courses (37 credits):

  1. English Composition I and II (6 credits)
  2. Public Speaking (3 credits)
  3. College Algebra (3 credits)
  4. Statistics (3)
  5. Introduction to Psychology (3)
  6. Developmental Psychology (3)
  7. Chemistry (4 credits)
  8. Anatomy and Physiology I and II with Lab (8 credits)
  9. Microbiology with Lab (4 credits)
  • Have completed the prerequisite courses with a cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Demonstrate English proficiency in speaking and reading
  • Evidence of attendance at a nursing pre-admission conference
  • Written essay indicating interest in nursing
  • Attend a personal interview
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Immunization records and medical tests
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Comply with the essential performance standards in nursing
