Program Description

Bachelor Pharmaceutical Business

Ohio Northern University

THERE’S A WHOLE SCIENCE BEHIND THE BUSINESS OF HEALTH CARE

With this major, you’ll split your time between health science courses in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences, courses delivered by the Raabe College of Pharmacy, and business courses in the Dicke College of Business Administration. You’ll choose from five areas of concentration: accounting, business analytics, human resource management, manufacturing management, and marketing. With our small class sizes, you’ll get to know your professors, and they will get to know you. In fact, you’ll be assigned a faculty advisor who will mentor you from day one until graduation. You’ll also interact with and learn from business leaders, entrepreneurs, and ONU alumni who’ve forged amazing careers in the biotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceutical fields. All of these people will open doors for you. Your pharmaceutical business education will blend rigorous coursework with real-world learning. You’ll work with actual companies to solve problems and devise strategies.

You’ll hone skills in leadership, teamwork, creativity, and entrepreneurship. After graduation, you’ll possess a rare blend of skills – expertise in the health sciences and business – that are sure to get you noticed by companies in fast-growing healthcare industries.

OPPORTUNITY ABOUNDS

HEALTH CARE BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS CLUB

Health Care Business Professionals Club (HBPC), is open to any student on campus who wants a better understanding of the healthcare industry (with an emphasis on the pharmaceutical industry) and its impact on our society. The group’s main purpose is to provide networking and learning opportunities for students interested in working in the healthcare field. Although not affiliated with a national organization, HBPC members create signature activities on ONU’s campus. Each winter, the club gathers donations and toys to make Christmas a little brighter for sick children at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio. And in the spring, the club hosts Polar RX, a prescription-drug-abuse awareness event.

INTERNSHIPS

Your internship gives you a chance to work in the field and build your résumé. We connect you with an internship that matches your interests and career aspirations. While many students intern in Ohio, others choose to complete an internship in another state or even internationally. Most internships are paid and may result in offers of full-time employment upon graduation.
