IMU is Malaysia’s first and most established private medical and healthcare university with over 26 years of dedicated focus in healthcare education. IMU achieved the SETARA-2017 Tier 6 status (Outstanding) under the Mature University category.
The three-year IMU Biomedical Science programme emphasises on clinical laboratory skills and human organ systems; an exciting and dynamic area that is highly relevant to the understanding and treatment of human diseases. Students also have the option to complete the entire three-year programme in IMU or study part of the programme in IMU and transfer to one of the University’s partners in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. There are 2 intakes every year – July and September.
Biomedical scientists are valued members of any healthcare team. Their nature of work includes performing chemical analysis of blood and other body fluids to detect diseases, diagnose illnesses and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments.
The IMU Biomedical Science programme has been accredited by the prestigious Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), UK. Getting an IBMS-accredited Biomedical Science honours degree from the IMU will give you all the necessary scientific knowledge, skills and training to begin a career in biomedical science and be eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
