IMU’s 3-year Medical Biotechnology degree programme is aligned with the Malaysian biotechnology priorities and it has been developed to meet high international standards and is accepted by the University of Newcastle, Australia for credit transfer into their programme.
Medical Biotechnology is a subset of biotechnology that teaches us how to use all living organisms, particularly cells and cell materials to produce pharmaceutical and diagnostic products to help us live longer and more productive lives. This major provides students with a sound understanding of the core sciences underpinning biotechnology for medical advancement. The robust curriculum of Medical Biotechnology in IMU teaches and prepares the students to apply current biotechnology techniques in real-world settings, in particular, during industrial training in biotechnology companies, government agencies and international institutions.
