University of Tartu (UT) is Estonia’s leading centre of research and training. It is the only university in the Baltics ranked in the top 3% of the world’s best universities (QS World University Rankings 2015-16). Founded in 1632, UT is the only classical university in Estonia. There are more than 14 000 students studying at UT (incl. 1000 international students (2015)) and UT has 3800 employees (incl. 1800 academic employees (190 professors)).
