The cycle of studies leading to the Master's degree in Educational Sciences, Area of Specialisation in Health Education, is a cycle of studies that gives relevance to approaches, paradigms, theories, methodologies, projects, policies and practices in health education, as well as to educational and bioethical issues, to contemporary issues directly and indirectly related to the society of risk, lifestyles, sexualities and risk behaviours.
It also stresses the educational potential of health associations and the methodological and practical issues of research in Health Education. Thus, it aims at providing future masters with skills on educational research as well as with a relevant and updated knowledge-base on the developments of the field of Health Education, which are necessary for the design of the dissertation research projects. The completion of the first year grants students a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Education. The successful completion of the master's programme grants the Master's degree in Educational Sciences.
