Best Bachelors in Luxembourg 2017. The Student Physiotherapist Fit for the future with a scientific qualification The health sector is getting more complex and demographic change is continuing – for physiotherapists this means it is increasingly important to improve and substantiate the quality of their work in prevention, therapy and rehabilitation with the help of scientific education. Reflecting your own work in science The PHYSIOTHERAPY course at LUNEX UNIVERSITY comprises of a bachelor’s and a master’s course and is not only a qualification for practical work as a physiotherapist. Graduates can reflect their career scientifically at a later date, execute it at a high level and contribute to the further development of the health sector. They are in a position to develop and execute services that extend beyond classical therapy. Already during their studies they will learn and execute interdisciplinary methods, which prepare them well for practical study phases and for teamwork in their later career. The combination of bachelor and master is a good qualification for Europe The strong international orientation of teaching at LUNEX UNIVERSITY is directed at students from all over Europe and thus opens up a large potential employment market after graduation. The academic qualification gained by the future physiotherapists also allows access to management positions in clinics and practices. If graduates are aiming for a career in teaching or research there is also a possibility of gaining a PhD following additional studies (for example SPORT PHYSIOTHERAP Y, M. Sc.). The semesters begin in October and April but in order to allow flexible study planning for people in employment or for performance athletes it is possible to enter at any time – any content that is missed can be repeated in the following semesters. THE LEARNED PHYSIOTHERAPIST Prepared for the future with academic training Modern developments in the health field present high demands for training future physiotherapists. The study of physiotherapy sets standards in foundational and advanced training and enables students to pursue a wide range of tasks, both qualitatively and professionally. The degree program is aimed towards those interested in the field of physiotherapy and thereby opens a large job market in Europe to the student. The program qualifies the student for a career as a practicing therapist as well as prepares graduates to execute their work in a scientific manner at the highest level. Graduates of the program are equipped with the ability to develop therapy programs and offerings for their patients that extend beyond traditional therapies. Additionally, they acquire interdisciplinary competencies for their later career track. Physiotherapists work in private practices, but also in head positions in clinics and rehabilitation centers. A career in teaching and research is also possible with further study, e.g. in Sports Physiotherapy (including doctoral studies). Through a combination of practical and academic training, the degree program is in the position to prepare students optimally for their careers. The international program complies with standards outlined in the Bologna Process for European courses of study and fulfills various legal requirements for obtaining a license to practice. The content of the physiotherapy track is divided into a Bachelor’s and a Master’s program. Within the six semesters of the Bachelor’s program, students receive an introduction and foundational training in the field. Within the two semesters of the Master’s program, students deepen and expand upon both theoretical knowledge and their practical skills. The program is designed with the intent that students complete both the Bachelor’s and the Master’s programs as by doing so they will be able to apply Europe-wide for a license to practice as therapists. Taking a break between studies, entering mid-course (with the appropriate qualifications) and changing universities after the Bachelor’s program are all possible options. Basic training in the bachelor’s degree and consolidation in the master’s degree The contents are distributed across a bachelor’s and a master’s degree course. The six semesters of the bachelor’s degree cover the introduction and basic training. The theoretical knowledge and practical skills of physiotherapy are then consolidated and supplemented in the two semesters of the master’s degree. The fundamental intention is that students complete both the bachelor’s and the master’s degree. Only then are the graduates in a position to apply for a professional licence across Europe and to establish them. However it is possible to take a break in studies or to enter part way through the course (given the relevant pre-qualification or changing university after the bachelor’s degree). Bachelor – study schedule and course contents Practical fundamentals supplemented with scientific methods The BACHELOR course communicates the fundamentals for the profession of physiotherapist. Practical seminars are first carried out among the students and are then increasingly supplemented with concrete cases in internships. The scientific work also begins with short questions and ends with the bachelor thesis. JOB MARKET AND CAREER FIELD What do physiotherapists do?
