Why study the Bachelor of Biomedical Science It is an exciting time to study Biomedical Science at UQ. This brand new 3-year program replaces the previous 4-year program. Biomedical scientists provide the foundation of modern healthcare and assist in developing treatments for diseases. Your studies will focus on the human body at the molecular, cellular and whole body levels and the disciplines of biochemistry and cell biology, physiology, developmental biology, microbiology, pharmacology and neuroscience. In this program, you will discover the latest in globally relevant biomedical research from leading scientists based at UQ's research institutes. You will also learn the scientific process through activities ranging from experimental design and hands-on experiments to computer programming. Entry requirements Entry scores All international applicants need to meet the minimum entry score for admission into this program. If you’re currently studying year 12 (or equivalent) in Australia or New Zealand, you need to meet this program’s minimum OP or Rank score. If you’re currently completing your senior schooling elsewhere, you need to meet this program’s minimum equivalent international entry score. If you’re not a current school leaver, your application will be considered on an individual basis. Prerequisites Year 12 or equivalent - English, Mathematics B, plus one of Chemistry or Physics English Proficiency IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. In order to gain entry to an academic program at UQ, you will have to demonstrate you have the appropriate level of English language skills.
