BSc in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care
Our course will provide you with the skills to manage and lead effectively in complex, dynamic and interprofessional/multidisciplinary organisations. It will develop you both personally and professionally ensuring you have the tools you need to support future development and empower you to achieve your potential for career progression.
As well as developing your analytical skills in research awareness, you will be expected to critically analyse your role in the provision of health and social care. Whilst it is envisaged that the majority of students will come from the NHS, the course is also suitable for voluntary, private sector as well as international students. You will advance your knowledge of recent health and social care policy developments and consider the current and future health and social care needs of clients in order to ensure that the views of service users and carers are fully represented in the management of care processes.

During your studies you will also develop a critical awareness of the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork and learn to operate in a collaborative way as an effective leader of the team. Our course will also enable you to acquire the ability to analyse and synthesise knowledge of the healthcare environment within which you are employed, and apply managerial and leadership principles to solve practical problems and situations.
As a manager and leader, it is important to maintain a flexible approach to change as a participant. Our course will aim to advance your understanding of how to adapt to change and influence change within a health and social care setting.
You will have the opportunity to explore, learn with and from other students, reflecting upon the challenges in a constructive way, deepening your awareness of your own and others perspectives.
